Connie Kohl
MA, Professional Counselor Associate
I am a professional counselor associate serving individuals and couples in Sandy, Oregon and surrounding communities, as well as offering telehealth to clients throughout Oregon.
Theoretical Approach
I view our human experience through an attachment theory lens, understanding that our earliest and most significant relationships profoundly shape us and how we relate to others.
My integrative approach draws from:
Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) Individuals & Couples
Solution-Focused Therapy
Mindfulness-based practices
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Gottman Method
Professional Background
I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Western Seminary and my undergraduate degree from George Fox University. I am a Professional Counselor Associate (R10214) with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counseling and Therapists. I am supervised by Heidi Dirkse-Graw, Licensed Professional Counselor.
I have previous experience working with young adults and couples as a Certified Holistic Health Coach, working in the natural health field, serving on church staff, and volunteering in educational and ministry settings.
Personal Background
In addition to my formal training, I come to this profession in the context of having experienced childhood loss, being a parent of two teenagers, helping family members and friends navigate difficult times of their own, and living out the hard work and joy of marriage for over 25 years.
My experiences have shown me that even in difficult seasons, hope is possible. My role is to help you rediscover that hope when it feels out of reach, and support you in building the future you want.
